From July 22nd to 28th, 2019, the 2019 IFMA World Muay Thai Championship was held in Bangkok, Thailand. Chen Yahong, a student from Shaolin Tagou Wushu School, won the 60kg championship after several rounds of fierce fighting in the competition.
In the 2019 IFMA World Muay Thai Championships, more than 1,000 athletes from 99 countries and regions around the world participated in the competition, using the IFMA International Muay Thai rules and the latest competition electronic scoring system.
Chen Yahong and Liu Yunlong, students from the Kung Fu Class of Shaolin Tagou Wushu School, joined the Chinese Muay Thai team and arrived in Bangkok on July 20 to formally prepare for the World Championship. In order to successfully enter the World Championships, Chen Yahong, who had just participated in the China Free Fighting Professional League and won the championship, lost 9 kg in 20 days and finally passed the official weighing of the competition.
In the competition, Chen Yahong defeated Indonesia, the Netherlands, Singapore and other players and successfully advanced to the final. In the gold medal contest, facing the same tough Kazakhstan player, Chen Yahong fought his opponent to the third game. With his excellent physical skills and strong hitting ability, he finally won the championship.
